Algarve boat trip packing guide - what to bring on your Lagos boat tour

What to Bring on an Algarve Boat Trip

Preparing for your boat trip from Lagos? Here's our complete packing guide based on years of taking guests along the Algarve coast. Don't worry - we provide drinks, snacks, and water activities equipment. This list covers everything else you might need.

Essential Items

Sunscreen (SPF 50+)

The Algarve sun is strong, especially reflected off the water. Reef-safe sunscreen is appreciated to protect the marine environment.

Sunglasses

Polarized lenses are best for reducing glare off the water and seeing into the crystal-clear sea.

Hat or Cap

Essential for sun protection. Choose one with a strap if it's windy.

Swimwear

You'll want to swim at Benagil Cave, paddle board, or jump off the boat. Wear it under your clothes or bring to change.

Recommended Items

Light Cover-up

A light shirt or sarong for when you want a break from the sun.

Towel

We have some on board, but bringing your own ensures you have one ready.

Camera or Phone

The scenery is incredible. A waterproof case is handy for photos near the caves.

Cash

While we include drinks and snacks, you might want to grab something at Marina de Lagos before or after.

For Photography Enthusiasts

Waterproof Camera/Case

GoPros are perfect for swimming in Benagil Cave. We can also take photos for you.

Extra Battery/Power Bank

You'll take more photos than you expect.

Polarizing Filter

If you have a proper camera, this helps with the harsh midday light on the cliffs.

Optional But Nice

Motion Sickness Pills

If you're prone to seasickness, take these 30-60 minutes before departure. The Algarve coast is usually calm.

Dry Bag

Useful for keeping phones and valuables dry during water activities.

Water Shoes

Helpful if you want to walk on the beach inside Benagil Cave or on rocky areas.

What NOT to Bring

Valuable Jewelry

Leave expensive items at your accommodation. Salt water and adventure don't mix with fine jewelry.

Large Bags

Space on the boat is limited. A small daypack is fine.

Glass Bottles

For safety reasons. We provide all drinks in safe containers.

Heavy Food

We provide snacks. Heavy meals and boat trips don't always mix well.

What We Provide

Drinks & Snacks

Cold drinks, water, and light nibbles included on all cruises.

Paddle Boards & Snorkeling Gear

All equipment for water activities is provided and included in the price.

Safety Equipment

Life jackets and all required safety gear.

Local Knowledge

Our captain knows all the best spots along the coast!
